Should I Replace All of My Windows at the Same Time?
Many homeowners who are considering a window replacement project find themselves faced with questions such as: What type of windows are the most energy-efficient? What’s the best time of year to replace your windows? Are new windows really worth the investment? And, perhaps the most common question we hear from customers: should I replace all of my windows at the same time or is it’s better to replace them a few at a time? However, like most things in the home improvement world, the answer is: It depends…
First, consider how many of your windows will likely need to be replaced in the near future. If most of them are still in pretty good shape and there are only two or three that are much older or have been damaged, then it makes the most sense to just replace these ones. After all, if it’s not broken, don’t fix it—right?
On the other hand, if one or two of your windows are damaged or in dire need of replacement and the others aren’t too far behind, then it’s probably best to just pull the trigger and replace them all at once. Not only will this spare you from having to go through two separate window replacement projects, but often, window companies offer better pricing the more new windows you purchase, so it might make good financial sense for you to “kill two birds with one stone,” as they say.
